To the writer

It is tough when the TB are continually harrassed and blamed for the ignorance and arrogance of others like yourself.  You do not have the decency or honesty to put your name to any corro you put out.  Meet with us face to face and we can compare your work 'throughout the world for years on multi-billion dollar deals' then see what little old Ngatikahu ki Whangaroa does.

You say you have worked on 'multi billion dollar deals'.  I take it you think you care soooo much about our rohe, then why have you not made yourself available.  Only a 'real fool' will spout off when he/she cannot or will not contribute to any kaupapa on behalf of whaanau whaanui.  You spout again about professionalism but you certainly don't demonstrate that in your own korero.  You also state; you approached this investigation with an extremely open mind .... I beg to differ your 'extremely open mind' when you accuse our tuupuna of wrong doing by having a whaangai amid us.  Probably Pita was the only one that could continue the kaupapa, after all, you were on the other side of the world .... weren't you .... trying to earn millions of dollars from 'multi billion dollar deals'.  Don't pass your rohe failures on us (the TB).  Enough said.

If such is the case and you have dealt successfully in the 'multi billion dollar deals, there should have been contracts in the mix.  THEREFORE, IF YOU WERE ABLE TO READ THE AIP, YOU SHOULD KNOW there is good negotiated reading ...as well as points that need clarity from whaanau whaanui ... EVEN THEN... the document is not a binding contract.

I signed the contract knowing the negotiators did their mahi and also with the full support of the TB and whaanau.  Obviously, you were travelling the world doing 'multi billion dollar deals' for non Maaori and non whaanau ... you've been left behind ... virtually missed the bus ..... then on top of it all, you were not fully updated by the whaanau you profess to represent.  So who is the REAL fool spouting off.  As a matter of aourtesy, your whaanau also knew they could attend all meetings, not just the one or two.

As for your absenteeism, arrogance and ignorance, don't for one minute think you can shove your incompetence on to our shoulders (TB).  Finally, I challenge you and your whaanau to attend the next meeting.

Consider that there will be no more communicating between yourself, myself and the TB Office unless it is to request a time slot on the agenda.  All else will be deleted.

Naaku noa, na

To the board,

Well I've waited two months for this official response to my very basic questions; and I'm extremely disappointed! I have approached this investigation with an extremely open mind; however the board in it's arrogance; has done nothing; absolutely nothing; not even answered one of my questions; to convince me that they are professional and that they have the interests of the iwi and hapu at heart.

I have read the governments offer as outlined in the AIP; and Pita Pangari as one of the negotiators should be ashamed. I have worked throughout the world for years on multi-billion dollar deals; and only a fool would sign this agreement. We will now ensure that this agreement is not progressed.

To the writer

1.      I am not, and neither will the Trust Board go into any dialogue with you or anyone else re Pita Pangari.  The so called rumour you talk of vs the truth is flipping     nonsense, so you figure it out yourself.  Should you, a no name, represent your whanau, feel free to attend any one of the TB meetings.  We have an open door   policy but be mindful that each individual is deserving of the utmost respect.

2.      Read the constitution.  This has been circulating for the past umpteen years.  Find your Hapuu representative for a copy or go to the TB Office in Mangonui.  You       can also get a copy of the AIP.

3.      Vetted?  Ask your Marae.  Be there when the meetings are held.  Get fully informed via your Marae.  It is the Marae that elects but in your case, vetted.

 4.     Again, see your Marae.

Additional to this, the TB has never turned any whanau members away.  The meetings are held in a public arena ie 'open door policy' held every third Saturday of the month.  You (and your whanau) are more than welcome to attend.  Should you take up the challenge, please notify the NKKWTB Office so we can add your name and discussion point on to the agenda.  You will be given 20 minutes for your kaupapa.  The office will advise you of the venue as this changes by the month.  In order to make an informed decision (you and your whanau) re judgement of  the TB and/or the Governments offer, I strongly urge you to contact the TB office re the agenda.  Please come to the meetings.

No reira, noho mai ki runga i te rangimarie, te whakapono, te tumanako o wa maatou maatua tuupuna me te aroha o te whanau - puta noa.  Ko te mea nui rawa atu, tukua ma te Atua i whakawaatea he huarahi tika kia kore ai taatou e awangawanga

Otiira, mo teenei waa,

To help me figure out the truth from the rumours; can you please answer a few questions for me?
1) Pita Pangari (Peter Pangari) is not toto; he was adopted into our hapu and believes he had a vision/calling to continue leading our people in this claim. Additionally, Pita continues to claim both his natural and adopted hapu.

2) The Ngati Kahu ki Whangaroa Trust Broad is not a legal entity it is represented legally as the "Kahukuraariki Trust Board". How is it audited and held accountable to the trust members?

3) How are the trust members vetted?
4) How often are trust board member elections held?
Regards, Paeara Family

It's been over a month since I last asked these very basic questions about the board; and how it works; to date I haven't received any official reply. Am I being unreasonable to expect that the Kahukuraariki Trust Board should answer these questions of it's members? I'm not asking anything confidential; these questions can be answered in the public arena or is this the way the board normally treats it's members?

The whole purpose of our questions is so we can make an informed decision on whether we trust the judgement of the Kahukuraariki Trust Board and subsequently the Government's offer. Can you please answer our questions?
